Teaching content |
In the lecture, in addition to theoretical knowledge, also the practical side of high voltage cable technology will be treated. These are technical issues, e.g. water sensitivity of plastic cables, cable inspection, testing of already installed cables and the latest developments as in the field of superconductivity etc.. The contents of the lecture are:
|
Learning objectives | Students learn the basic structure of a cable. They know the technical requirements both for the material and the design of a high voltage cable. The basics of manufacturing technology and the necessary tests are learned. The students are also able to evaluate new trends in cable technology. |
Prerequisites | Recommended: B.Sc. ETiT Electrical Power Systems |
Material | All materials will be available in Moodle. |
Examination |
The exam date will be announced in Moodle. The examination takes place in form of a written exam (duration: 90 minutes). If one can estimate that less than 4 students register, the examination will be an oral examination (duration: 30 min.). The type of examination will be announced in the beginning of the lecture. |
