From north, south and west, you will come to Darmstadt via the highways A5 (from Frankfurt / M or Heidelberg / Basel) and A67 (from Cologne / Wiesbaden or Mannheim). They intersect 3 km west of the city in the highway junction Darmstadt. The TUD locations of the city center are well signposted throughout the city.
When you have left the highway in the direction of Darmstadt, follow the Rheinstrasse towards the city center. Drive straight ahead into the City-Ring-Tunnel. After the right turn in the tunnel, turn left at the end of the tunnel into Hügelstrasse..
At the next large traffic lights turn left into Kirchstrasse. On the next major crossroads turn right into Landgraf-Georgstraße. Immediately on the left site you can see the high-voltage hall, their driveway you use. There you can park.
From the east you will reach Darmstadt via the Bundesstraße B26. Follow the road until you see the high-voltage station on the right site.
Users of a navigation system can use the address “Karolinenpl. 4, 64289 Darmstadt” instead of the postal address so that you can be directed directly to the WelomeHotel.
The following hotels are located near the TU Darmstadt and the Darmstadtium. The TU Darmstadt has agreed on special conditions with some of the listed hotels. Please contact us if necessary.

- Located in the center of Darmstadt, the Darmstadtium is about 500 m away, the main station 1.2 km. Starting at € 112 / night.
- Inexpensive hotel, recently renovated, approx. 10 minutes' walk away, located on the main road (Kasinostr.). Starting at € 94/ night.
4. Maritim Hotel Darmstadt ****
- Hotel in the style of the 80s, near the main train station, by tram or bus 5-10 minutes to the city center. TU special conditions possible. Starting at € 94 / night.
If you are travelling by public transport, go to the “Darmstadt Schloß” stop. From there it is only a few meters to the “Darmstadtium” and the WelcomeHotel.
From Darmstadt central station you can take the following lines directly to the stop “Schloß”:
- Tram line 2, 3
- Bus line K (to TU-Lichtwiese)
- Bus line H (to Darmstadt-Kranichstein Kesselhutweg)
- Bus line F (to Darmstadt Oberwaldhaus)
- Bus line FU (to Darmstadt Rödermark-Urberach Bahnhof)

If you are arriving from Frankfurt Airport, there are several options to get to Darmstadt.
With the “Airliner”, the local transport company offers a direct shuttle bus to Darmstadt central station. Further information can be found on the RMV page
